ONAWAY, MI (WTVB) – The name of a suspect who has been charged in connection with the shooting death of an area woman has been released following his Thursday morning arraignment.
WWTV-TV reports 55-year-old Brenton Walker is facing four charges including first degree murder in connection with the death of 42-year-old Heather Young.
The TV station also reports Young has been staying in Onaway for the last few weeks looking for a job. Michigan State Police at Marshall say her last known address was near Sherwood.
Young reportedly had a disagreement with her boyfriend and went to a local bar where she was last seen during the early morning hours of July 30, 2016. That was where she was seen with Walker.
Walker was interviewed, his home was searched and so was a wooded area where her body was found Tuesday.
She was reported missing by family members on August 2, 2016.
