LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s unemployment rate in November dropped three-tenths of a percent to three-point-seven percent according to data released Wednesday by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
The report stated not seasonally adjusted jobless rates decreased in 13 of Michigan’s 17 labor market areas over the month.
Associate Director of the Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives Wayne Rourke said in a statement released by the DTMB, “Michigan regional labor markets moved as expected during November. Seasonal rate increases occurred in several regions. Payroll employment was stable over the month.”
The report showed Branch County had the 18th lowest unemployment rate among Michigan’s 83 counties.
Unemployment rates went down in neighboring counties.
It was four percent in St.Joseph County, four-point-two percent in Hillsdale County and four-point-three percent in Calhoun County.
Michigan’s November unemployment rate was at four-point-three percent.
Unemployment rates in October ranged from two-point-one percent in Livingston County to 10-point-seven percent in Mackinac County.
