COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Playing their third game in four days following a two week quarantine, the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team fell to Dewitt 4-1 Saturday in non-conference action.
Dewitt got their opening goal nine minutes into the game, but the Cardinals came back to tie the contest with 22:53 to play in the first half on a Brayden Boyd goal, assisted by Joseph Closson. Dewitt added two more goals before the end of the half, and one more four minutes into the second half to complete the scoring.
Michael Orozco-Aburto made nine saves in goal for the Cardinals, as Dewitt outshot Coldwater 13-2.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-4 on the season. They will host Marshall in Interstate 8 Conference action Tuesday.
The Coldwater junior varsity team tied Dewitt Saturday 1-1. Anthony Castaneda had the lone goal for the Cardinals.
