COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal bowlers swept the Hastings Saxons on Thursday at Midway Lanes in their first home meet of the season.
The Varsity boys took their match 29 to 1. The Cardinals won both regular games 887 to 703 and 801 to 726, taking totals 1688 to 1429.
They also took both Baker games. 171 to 167 and 197 to 165, taking totals 368 to 332.
Coldwater was again led by Austin Johnson with a high game of 242, Vinnie Beekman a 197 and Kristian Yearling a 182.
The JV boys won their match 24 to 6. Winning both regular games 648 to 543 and 644 to 533, taking totals 1292 to 1076. They split the Bakers, losing game one, 144 to 140, taking the 2nd game 112 to 76, winning totals 252 to 220. The JV boys were led by Morgen Jackson with a 177, Brady Hawver a 158 and Zach Robison a 127.
The Varsity Girls faced stiff competition from the Lady Saxons but managed to pull out a 19 to 11 win.
Coldwater split their regular games, winning game one 643 to 593, losing game two 686 to 666, taking totals 1309 to 1279.
Also splitting the Baker games, losing game one 145 to 137, taking game two 143 to 126, taking totals 280 to 271.
The Coldwater girls were led by Lily Cook with a 174 and Violet Waltke with a 165.
The JV girls tied with the Saxons 15 to 15. They were led by Ashlyn Cleckner with a 135 game, and Madison Shuler with a 132.
