Ada Dorene Fox, 62, of Quincy, passed away at home unexpectedly Friday, January 6, 2023.
She will be privately memorialized later this summer.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation in Union City.
Ada was born September 2, 1960 in Coldwater, Michigan the daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen (Edwards) Gregory, and was raised by Ralph and Mary Ellen (Edwards) Childress. Ada attended both Union City and Colon Community Schools. On April 12, 1986, she married Richard “Jo” Fox in Union City. He survives.
Ada was employed in dairy for the past 36 years, 26 of them at the Bowerman Dairy Farm in Quincy. She loved her family, especially Jo, her husband of 36 years; her past dogs, Dixie and Whiskey; and her current dogs, Zippy and Roxy. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, reading, watching John Wayne movies, Star Trek, M*A*S*H movies and shows.
Ada had a wild sense of humor and sarcastic wit. She had to make her banana split cake for all holiday meals or risk not being invited again. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Jo, Ada is survived by her children, Rose and Roger; step-children, Dawn and Andy; her mother, Mary Ellen (Edwards) Childress of Arkansas; many siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Gregory and step-father, Ralph Childress.
