COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Besides three contested races for the Branch County Board of Commissioners, there are a number of other primary election races Tuesday. The highest profile race is Branch County Sheriff John Pollack facing a Republican challenge from Cailean Gee.
Running unopposed on Tuesday will be County Clerk Terry Ann Kubasiak, Drain Commissioner Michael Hard, Prosecutor Ralph Kimble II, Treasurer Ann Vrablic and Register of Deeds Nancy Hutchins.
Ed Reed is running for Branch County Surveyor. Howver, since his name will not be on the ballot, he is running as a write in candidate.
There are several contested races for township offices.
Michael Crenshaw, Taylor Fraser and Daniel Rinehart are running for Batavia Township trustee seats.
There are two races in Bethel Township. James Webb is running against Lawrence LaMontagne for Supervisor while Karen Ratkowski and Clarissa Nowak are running for Treasurer.
Coldwater Township Supervisor Don Rogers will being challenged by write in Mike Thompson.
Phillip AcMoody is running against Gene Easterday for Girard Township Supervisor.
In Kinderhook Township, Cynthia Carpenter is running against Michael Exelby for Clerk while Terri Jo Duncan-Smith is facing Dwayne Weber for Treasurer.
Clint Burdick, Larry Timm and Bryan Washburn are running for Union Township Trustee seats.
