ALLEN, MI (WTVB) – A Tuesday night explosion in Hillsdale County has taken the life of a 35-year-old man. Michigan State Police say Lawrence Piette Junior died from severe burns to his body at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
His 62-year-old father Lawrence suffered major burns and at last report was still in Bronson Hospital.
The blast happened in the area of Buelow Road and Jonesville Road when the Piettes were apparently working on a boat motor at a residence in the area.
The incident remains under investigation.
