BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings won five matches on Saturday to capture the Clark Walker Memorial Wrestling Tournament championship.
The annual tournament is named after a former state champion Bronson wrestler who lost his life while serving his country in the Vietnam War in 1967.
The host Vikings went 5-0. They defeated Niles Brandywine 45-26, Lawton 52-19, Milan 74-6, Vicksburg 65-18 and White Pigeon 60-12.
Perry Lake and Layne Knisely won all five of their matches for the Vikings while Matthew Blankenship and Jayden Post went 4-0.
Jacob Britten, Jacob Dixon, Aiden Fill, Owen Kimmons, Logan Long and Carson Norton all went 4-1 for Bronson.
