WALDRON, MI (WTVB) – A crash on Saturday night involving a fuel tanker and a car in Waldron caused a Morenci man to be flown out.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says 61-year-old Burton Westfall of Jackson was backing out onto the road at about 9:35 p.m. after filling the fuel tanks at a gas station when he was struck by a car driven by 21-year-old Dakota Larry-Laine Gilgallon.
Witnesses say Gilgallon was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the fuel tanker trailer. Alcohol is suspected in this crash.
Gilgallon was flown out by Life Flight of Toledo.
