BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The 47th Annual Bronson Polish Festival got underway Thursday night with a pair of longtime Bronson residents receiving the surprise of their lives. Dave Herman and Celeste Brown were crowned festival King and Queen, respectively, in front of a full house at the St. Mary’s Gym.
Recent Bronson High School graduates Tyler Roussey and Alexa Ratkowski were named festival Prince and Princess. Siblings Drew and Morgan McConn were announced as Junior Prince and Princess.
Stacey Weaver, who is currently battling health issues at Bronson Battle Creek, was named an Honorary King, with festival organizers hopeful that he would be able to take in some of the weekend’s activities.
We did a video stream of the opening ceremony via Facebook Live Video. You can watch it again at this link.
Friday’s festival highlights include the start of the men’s softball tournament at Greenwald Park, the talent show at the Bronson Community Center, and a performance by Meccabone at Bronson Strike Zone.
