UNDATED (WTVB) – The hottest weather of the summer will move in today and literally stick around through the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon through 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
A Heat Advisory means that the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioning as much as possible, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Extra precautions should be taken if you work or spend time outside.
Highs are expected to get into the 90s today, tomorrow and Saturday with heat index readings of near 100 on Thursday and up to 105 on Friday.
The dangerous heat and humidity may continue into the weekend.
