COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School girls basketball teams split their games with Parma Western on Monday night.
The Legg 8th grade A team lost to Parma Western 47-24. Marie Powers led Legg with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
The 8th grade B basketball team lost to Parma Western 30–16. The B team was led in scoring by TaKyaa Hughes, Julianna Cowles and Hannah Harris with 4 points each.
The LMS 7th grade A girls basketball team defeated Parma Western 33-29. Audrina Bucklin lead the way with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Laynie VanAken had nine points and eight steals.
The 7th Grade B team beat Parma Western 17-16 in overtime. Madysen Combs led Legg with 13 points.
Meanwhile, the Cougars of St. Charles Borromeo defeated Trinity Lutheran from Sturgis 32-11 in a Sturgis Christian League game on Monday night. Leading the Cougars in scoring was Andrew Richards with 14 points followed by Luke Aerts with eight points. The Cougars will be in action this coming Thursday night January 26th at 6:30 p.m. taking on the Raiders of St. Mary’s Assumption in Bronson.
