UNDATED (WTVB) – Usually, the price of gas goes up during the summertime as people head out on vacation getaways. But that has not been the case in recent weeks.
After a number of issues including refinery repairs caused prices to go up to near $2.70 around the first of June, prices have been dropping for over a month.
You don’t have to go far now to find gas at less than $2 a gallon.
According to the web site www.gasbuddy.com, gas in the Sturgis area is now as low $1.96.
It’s even lower in Dowagiac where one station has gas for $1.90 a gallon.
Prices around Coldwater on Wednesday were between $2.12 and $2.14 a gallon.
Michigan’s average price for gas on Wednesday according to the web site was $2.23.
