WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) – The nation grieves for five Dallas police officers who were killed Thursday night in an ambush shooting at the end of a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas over police action shootings this week in Minnesota and Louisiana. Six other officers were wounded.
7th District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg says this is a day to stand behind police.
He said on WTVB’s Delaney in the Morning program Friday that “our hearts and our support must go out to our law enforcement agencies.”
He added whatever the perpetrators idea was, it must be stopped. Walberg said this has to be a law abiding country and law enforcement must be respected.
In a cruel twist of irony, the shootings took place just a few blocks away from where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.
