UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Union City’s Mickey Mantle baseball team swept a doubleheader from Quincy on Thursday night by scores of 10-3 and 17-6. Union City snapped a scoreless tie in the opener with a six-run third inning. Garrett Mead had two hits while Kody Judas drove in three runs. Colton Johns was the winning pitcher as he struck out 11 in five innings of work.
Union City set the tone in the nightcap by scoring nine runs in the first inning. Johns had four hits while Riley Rivard drove in four runs.
Following the doubleheader sweep, Union City’s record is now 9-7.
