BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber told the Bronson City Council last week that things are going well with the safety net ambulance that has been stationed at the Bronson fire station for the last seven weeks.
The safety net ambulance is a joint venture between Lifecare and the Bronson Fire Department (BFD). Wilber told the Council the auxiliary ambulance has hardly been activated.
Talk of having the auxiliary ambulance started last summer when Life Care was not able to meet its response time standards due to a lack of staffing which promises an ambulance will arrive within 12 minutes of being dispatched at least 80 percent of the time.
The plan would be to dispatch the extra ambulance with Bronson Fire Department personnel if a normal ambulance isn’t available within 10 minutes.
Training on the safety net ambulance was conducted last Wednesday.
