HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were injured Thursday morning in Hillsdale County when they were involved in a crash in which their car went airborne.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department reports 32-year-old James Stockford of Hillsdale was driving north on Pittsford Road north of Union Road at about 7:15 a.m. when he took his eyes off the road. The car then went off the road and hit a driveway culvert. That launched his car into the air where it struck a tree on an embankment. The car then fell into a ditch and rolled onto its side.
Stockford and a minor passenger were taken to the Hillsdale Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police say they were both wearing their safety belts. Deputies were assisted by Pittsford-Jefferson firefighters.
