COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A ribbon cutting and open house hosted by Clemens Food Group, the Branch Area Careers Center and Kellogg Community College was held on Thursday at the Careers Center in Coldwater.
New robotics and mechatronics training equipment was showcased and employment opportunities were discussed for potential job seekers at the new Clemens pork processing facility which is scheduled to open in late 2017.
Mike Hoffner, who just retired as the Director of Career and Technical Education at the Careers Center, told those who attended the open house that the equipment cost about $1 million.
Kevin Rabineau from KCC said a state grant help made the installation of the equipment possible.
A series of robotics and mechatronics courses are being offered by KCC at the Careers Center starting this fall. Sign up events at KCC’s Grahl Center will be held from 9:00am until 12noon next Wednesday and on July 6th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
