SPRINGFIELD, MI (WTVB) – Two Union City residents were injured Sunday afternoon when their motorcycle was struck by a car in Springfield.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened at about 3:50 p.m. at Michigan and Limit Streets. The motorcycle was driven by a 51-year-old man while the passenger was a 47-year-old woman.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for unknown head injuries. The driver was also transported to the same hospital for minor injuries. Deputies say they both were not wearing helmets and it appears were thrown from the motorcycle after the collision.
The two occupants of the car were both from Battle Creek and they were taken to Battle Creek Bronson Hospital for minor injuries.
The names of the people involved in the accident were not released. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
