ST JOSEPH, MI (WTVB) – A 61-year-old White Pigeon woman is recovering at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with serious burns after an explosion in the engine compartment of her boat in St. Joseph.
Barbara Warren and her husband, Kenneth, were returning to Eagle Point Marina after their engine began to malfunction on Lake Michigan Sunday morning. Another boater came to their aid ahead of first responders, and police are still trying to determine what caused the fire and explosion.
Kenneth Warren is being treated at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, while his wife had to be airlifted to Kalamazoo.
