COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 1,500 mile bicycle ride that is raising awareness about children growing up without their fathers will be making an overnight stop in Coldwater tonight.
David Hirsch is the founder of 21st Century Dads Foundation and the leader of the Dads Honor Ride which is raising money for nine fatherhood charities.
Hirsch says they are trying to point out that children from father-absent homes are more likely to drop out of school, get into trouble with the law or have substance abuse problems.
The 21 day ride started in Boston and will wind up in Chicago on Sunday which is Father’s Day.
