COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency will be hosting a free Drive-Thru COVID-19 testing event for Michigan residents Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Coldwater Branch Area Transit Authority bus garage.
Testing will be available to Michigan residents on a first come, first served basis. Those planning to get tested are being asked to bring ID. Minors can be tested if they are calm and with a parent.
The State of Michigan is covering the cost of testing at this event. Insurance is not required and no insurance cards will be requested.
Nasopharyngeal tests will be administered to determine whether persons currently have COVID-19. Antibody testing will NOT be done at this event.
This event is supported by the Michigan National Guard, the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
The test comes after the C.H.A. reported Branch County’s ninth COVID-19 related death on Friday. Branch County has had 611 positive cases of coronavirus since the first one was reported in late March.
While the State of Michigan has had over 134,000 COVID-19 cases, over 104,000 patients have recovered.
