ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) — The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert after getting some complaints regarding a text message scam that is being sent out.
They say if you receive a text message from an unfamiliar e-mail address or phone number stating that their Amazon account has been locked along with a link to click on, DO NOT click the link.
Scammers are trying to gain access into your smart phone and steal data or access bank accounts.
Do not respond to the text message, just simply delete it.
Remember, never give out any personal information over the phone or allow anyone to remotely access your computer or wireless device.
