COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council on Monday night will be asked to purchase six tax foreclosed properties at a price of just under $21,000.
Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker says the State of Michigan has foreclosed on six occupied parcels and seven vacant residential lots in the city for unpaid property taxes over the past three years.
The properties that have existing blighted structures are located at….* 136 South Clay Street* 43 Race Street* 212 Henry Street* 124 Marshall Street* 31 Pelton Avenue* 199 Orleans Blvd.
The State has made the properties available to the City before they go to publice auction.
Also on Monday’s City Council agenda will be a public hearing on the proposed 2016-2017 fiscal year budget.
The Council will also hear a presentation from local Eagle Scouts on improvements to Waterworks Park. The annual report from the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance will also be presented.
The Council will also be asked to extend the City’s lease with the Branch District Library for five years through September of 2021 and approve a bonding resolution of no more than $1 million to help pay for improvements to Heritage Park.
