LOWELL, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Lowell woman who was charged this week with alleged sex crimes involving a three-year-old child she was caring for has a Coldwater connection.
WZZM-TV reports 43-year-old Heather Wallace has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct, aggravated child sexually abusive activity, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials and using a computer to commit a crime.
Lowell Police were assisted by Hillsdale Police and the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department during the investigation into alleged crimes that took place in November while Wallace was video chatting with 52-year-old Daniel Remsing of Coldwater who she had met on a dating app.
Remsing was arrested by Hillsdale Police in an apparent unrelated case involving criminal sexual conduct charges on January 8. He is scheduled to appear for a probable cause conference in Hillsdale County Circuit Court next Wednesday, March 22.
WZZM-TV reports Wallace at first contacted Hillsdale Police about Remsing after he allegedly asked her to take pictures of the child and then sexually assault her.
The report indicates that at first, she told investigators she did not comply with the request but later changed her story when she was questioned by police about the video and photographic evidence.
