COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners has formally approved a resolution which authorizes the Branch County Building Authority to finance a project for a new Branch County Jail. The resolution passed on a 4-1 vote. Dale Swift cast the only no vote.
Branch County voters will be asked on August 2 to approve a 20 year millage question to help fund the jail project.
County Administrator Bud Norman said information meetings for the public will be held June 16 at the Coldwater Township Hall and on July 26 at the Community Health Center of Branch County Community Care and Conference Center. Both meetings will start at 6:30 p.m.
