DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The Quiz Bowl team from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School competed in the Michigan Middle School Quiz Bowl Championship Tournament at Detroit Catholic Central this past Saturday.
St. Charles teacher Kevin Paradine said both teams had a good day and the Cougars did exceptionally well in individual scoring.
The “A” team finished the day with a record of 6-3 and finished tenth in the tournament out of 30 teams.
The “B” team finished with a record of 3-6 and was in 22nd place in the event.
Individually, the Cougars of St. Charles had four players scoring in the top 50 out of 132 total players from all teams.
Luke Aerts led the way finishing fourth followed by Trey Powell in 20th place, Aiden Adams in 40th and Andrew Yelevich in 44th.
For 8th grader Luke Aerts, this was his final NAQT Tournament. He finished in the top ten scorers in all of the tournaments this year with a high of third at Detroit Country Day.
