ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) — The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says a reported altercation involving a person armed with a shotgun led to the arrest of four people on Monday in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.
Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies say the violent altercation occurred at a residence in the 3800 block of East Peachy Road in Fremont Township.
Two shots were fired but no one was injured. An investigation determined that the altercation stemmed from a dispute over a recent drug trafficking incident that several people at the Peachy Road residence were allegedly involved in.
That information led to Sheriff’s detectives obtaining a search warrant for a residence in the 100 block of North Ray Street in the town of Fremont.
Three Fremont residents were among four suspects booked into the Steuben County Jail in connection with the investigation. They were 40 year old Alphonso Vasquez II, 32 year old Amanda Vasquez and 19 year old Isaiah Pearl.
The other suspect was 20 year old Nikyla Church of Defiance, Ohio. Pearl and Church were charged with dealing in a controlled substance.

Alphonso Vasquez II is facing eight charges which include Intimidation with a deadly weapon, Criminal Recklessness with a firearm, Domestic Battery with a firearm, Pointing a loaded firearm and Dealing in a controlled substance.

Amanda Vasquez is facing four counts which include Dealing in a controlled substance and Obstruction of Justice.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and additional suspects and criminal charges may be sought. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office in the investigation were Auburn Police and the Indiana State Police.
