COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – City of Coldwater Economic Development Coordinator and Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden told the Downtown Development Authority Board of Wednesday that a final walk through has been conducted as the Children’s Museum of Branch County will soon be moving into the former Taylor’s Stationers building at 60 West Chicago.
She said it’s one of the final steps that has to be taken.
It’s hoped the museum will be able to occupy the building in May. New awnings and signs will also be installed and a new logo will be revealed in the near future.
A report on the total project costs will be presented to the D.D.A. sometime in the next couple of months.
The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority owns the building. Nearly 7,000 square feet of interior space has been renovated.
Funds from a crowdfunding campaign and community support have been used for numerous improvements including new bathrooms, a multipurpose room along with brand new carpeting and paint.
