BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Both the Coldwater and Quincy School Boards approved a settlement agreement on Monday night in a lawsuit against Juul Labs, Incorporated and other vaping product defendants.
The suit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California alleged vaping was harming students.
The resolution passed by the Quincy School Board did not indicate how much money the district will get as part of the settlement.
A U.S. District Judge approved a $225 million settlement in January which alleges Juul deceptively marketed the vaping product and that they marketed their products to children.
School districts that accept the settlement agreement in turn release claims against Juul and Juul-related products, thus settling the lawsuit.
