CLEAR LAKE, IN (WTVB) – A married couple from Bristol, Indiana were injured Monday afternoon when their motorcycles crashed near Clear Lake, Indiana. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 3:00pm on State Road 120 near the intersection of County Road 925 East.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 2010 Harley-Davidson driven by 60 year old Brenda Hook and a 2006 Harley-Davidson driven by her 53 year old husband Douglas were traveling west when Mrs. Hook’s motorcycle drifted off the road as she was negotiating a curve causing her to lose control on the soft dirt shoulder. For some unknown reason, Mr. Hook’s motorcycle also left the road and went out of control. The Hooks were ejected off of their motorcycles and collided with the ground causing possible internal injuries.
Both riders were wearing helmets preventing more serious injuries and were flown to a Fort Wayne area hospital by the Samaritan helicopter in serious but stable condition. The accident remains under investigation.
