UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – No injuries were reported late Sunday night after a pickup truck crashed into the Bucket Resale Store on Coldwater Road.
The crash was reported at 10:51 p.m.. Union City police report the 25-year-old driver from Boonville, Indiana told them he fell asleep at the wheel and missed a small curve before hitting a corner of the building.
Pictures posted by owners Tony and Maggie Smith on their Facebook page showed damage to the exterior of the building as well as to some of the merchandise inside.
They said on Facebook the Bucket Resale Store will remain closed until they get clearance from their insurance company and builders.
There was some concern about the structural soundness on the corner of the building which was struck.
