FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – Traffic on I-69 was tied up for a couple of hours Tuesday evening after two trucks collided just south of the Michigan-Indiana state line.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 5:50 p.m. on southbound I-69 near the 356 mile marker. They report a 2011 Freightliner driven by 33-year-old Jeffery Sosnowska of Rockford, Michigan was heading south when it drifted right and struck a 2013 Freightliner which was parked on the shoulder.
The parked vehicle was driven by 35-year-old Brian Nolan of Niles, Ohio. Both drivers refused medical treatment at the scene.
Both north and southbound lanes of I-69 experienced stoppages and slow traffic for two hours while crews worked to clean up the roadway and make it safe for travel. Driver fatigue is said to be the cause of the crash.
