COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The budget for the Branch Intermediate School District is moving forward, , after the Coldwater Board of Education Monday night approved the budgets as a member school district of the BISD.
BISD Business Manager Diane Shiery said one of the more expensive projects in the next couple of years will be the replacement of the roof at the Branch Area Careers Center. She said they had an assessment done on the roof this year.
The roof work will be done in two sections and cost between $800,000 and $900,000. Shiery said the project will be self funded as tax revenue has been put into a capital projects fund for the last several years. There will not be a bond issue for the roof work.
The Coldwater Board of Education also approved a letter of agreement with Owen Ames KImball of Kalamazoo who will provide pre-bond services for the Coldwater school district before a possible bond issue goes before voters in May 2017.
It was also announced that 22 Coldwater High School students will be interviewed out of 26 who applied for the Early College program which will start next year.
