COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed an amendment to an agreement between the City and Coldwater Township on Monday night which ensures that the voters in a new apartment complex on North Willowbrook Road will be able to vote in City elections.
The Council and the Coldwater Township Board approved a PA 425 agreement last spring which transferred about 20 acres of land to the City so that residents could be served by city utilities.
But after a review, City Attorney Megan Angell said the City was informed that the State would not revise the precinct maps to show the area within any City precinct with no reason being given.
Angell could not hide her frustration with State government.
The Coldwater Township Board approved the amendment to the agreement last week.
