COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Tibbit’s Opera Foundation and Arts Council Thursday night celebrated “a million thank you’s” honoring the million dollars of investment into the building since the completion of the facade 10 years ago.
On hand to honor the many donors were State Representative Andrew Fink and director of the Michigan Arts and Culture Council Alison Watson, with other presentations from Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney, Development Director Andrew French, and Operations Director Stephanie Burdick.
The latest project was the remodeling of the dressing rooms at the opera house.
Other projects inthe past 10 years have included replacement of carpeting, replacement of the boilers, upgrade of the electric system, repair of the ceiling and adding a sample of the original decorative painting, as well as investments in sound, lighting and technical equipment.
Many of the projects have been completed with funding from matching grants from the Michigan Arts and Cultural Council.
Donors to the restoration were treated to a reception, a performance by BLT Jazz Trio, presentations, a video highlighting the projects, and tours of the dressing rooms.
