KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Free Narcan kits have been handed out on the north side of the city of Kalamazoo after 18 people overdosed on fentanyl in 24 hours last week, with six of them losing their lives.
HOPE thru Navigation founder Gwendolyn Hooker has lost two family members to fentanyl overdoses and teamed with COPE Network to provide the free overdose reversal drug and fentanyl testing strips. She says some people who overdosed in the past week had their lives saved by readily available Narcan kits.
Similar giveaways are being planned for the Edison and Vine neighborhoods in Kalamazoo.
