QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Thursday’s scheduled high school baseball match-up between Coldwater and Quincy was rained out. After a pop-up thundershower pushed back the scheduled start by an hour, another line of rain made the field unplayable after Coldwater failed to score in the top of the first inning. No word yet on if the game will be rescheduled.
Coldwater’s J.V. team defeated Quincy 9-0 in a rain shortened game that was called after five innings. Austin Spray struck out nine and allowed one hit in five innings of work. Brent Smoker and Lucas Santure each had three hits.
The J.V. Cardinals swept Harper Creek 8-7 and 9-8 in a doubleheader on Wednesday. Austin Spray and Austin Roby were the winning pitchers. Cody Nill got the save in the first game. Roby had three hits in the first game. Brent Smoker had four hits in the second game while Matt Gonzalez drove in the winning run.

Adyson Lasky was the winning pitcher in the opener. Payton Robinson had two hits while Kiera Lasky and Allie Sikorski both had two RBI’s. Robinson drove in two runs in the nightcap. The Vikings are now 12-7.
Coldwater’s softball game at Quincy was also rained out Thursday, with no reschedule date announced.
