BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Where did spring go? With a week before we enter the merry month of May, Branch County was included in a freeze warning on Monday morning as temperatures dropped into the low 30s.
The forecast is calling for widespread frost during the morning hours every day through Thursday. To add insult to injury, snow showers are in the forecast for Tuesday morning.
After temperatures got up to near 80 on April 13, 14 and 15, highs are also expected to be below normal this week as the mercury will struggle to get into the 50s.
The average high for April 24 is 61 degrees.
This week’s cool weather will follow a truly miserable weekend that featured frigid highs in the 40s and rain on both days. Sleet was also reported on Saturday.
Area residents can not catch a break with weekend weather lately. It has rained or snowed in Branch County on five of the last six Saturdays.
