UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers girls track remain in contention for a Big 8 Conference championship after they recorded a pair of wins Wednesday night in a double dual meet with Bronson and Jonesville at Alumni Field.
The Chargers defeated Jonesville 89 1/2 to 43 1/2 and Bronson 86-40. The Vikings earned a split by defeating Jonesville 66-57.
Union City winners….Adalynn Rumsey (200 and long jump), Willow Austin (400), Kyla Burdick (800 and pole vault), Skyler Fraley (1600 and 3200) and Felina Stevens (discus),
Bronson winners…Jaiden Hayes (100 hurdles and 300 hurdles) and Natalie Tappenden (shot put)
Union City won the 400, 800 and 3200 relays

The Union City Boys squad earned a split. They lost to Jonesville 76 1/2 to 59 1/2 but defeated Bronson 95-41. The Vikings also lost to Jonesville 92-39.
Union City winners….Riley Laird (100 and 200), Jason Shoop (3200), Nathaniel Maurer (300 hurdles), Logan Cole (shot put and discus) and Rick Austin (long jump)
Bronson winners….Boston Bucklin (high jump)
Union City won the 800 and 3200 relays.
