COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals girls softball team swept a non conference doubleheader from Jonesville on Thursday night winning both games by 10-0 scores at the Rotary Softball Complex.
Alexis Bills was the winning pitcher in the opening game as she struck out seven and allowed four hits in five innings.
Kenzie Scheid homered and drove in five runs. Rylie Van Aken had four hits including a double.
Coldwater took advantage of 13 walks in the second game.
Scheid was the winning pitcher as she struck out seven and allowed four hits. She also homered and drove in three runs.
Van Aken had two hits giving her six hits in the doubleheader and 11 hits in the last four games.
The Coldwater J.V.’s swept Jonesville 17-0 and 19-0. First game winning pitcher Mackenzie Searing threw a no-hitter. Mya Porter hit an inside the park home run in the opener. Porter was the winning pitcher in the second game. Ava Longstreet had three hits. The J.V. Cards are now 16-4.
