HOMER, MI (WTVB) – An 87-year-old Homer woman was injured Tuesday evening when she was struck by a west bound semi on M-60. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says it happened just after 6:00 p.m.
They believe the woman was walking across M-60 near North Hillsdale Street at the time she was struck. The unidentified woman was airlifted to an unnamed hospital by Air Care. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident. The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Michigan State Police, Homer firefighters and Jackson Community Ambulance.
The accident is still under investigation.
