COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed a resolution on Monday night covering a rehabilitation project concerning proposed office space at 32 Tibbits Plaza and 50 West Pearl Street.
Coldwater Executive Suites owns the property and were granted an eight year Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Abatement Certificate.
City Assessor Samantha Albright says the one-story structure will be fully renovated with two separate office spaces being created.
About 46 positions will be retained or construction jobs will be needed during the rehabilitation project. Albright said there are no delinquent taxes related to the facility. The building was constructed in the early 1970’s. It was designed as commercial office space and will continue to operate as such.
The building lacks modern and efficient electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. The walls, floors and ceilings are also in poor condition due to extensive water damage.
The building also lacks ADA compliance in accordance to today’s standards.
