COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The rain held off Saturday for the fifth annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes fundraising event in Coldwater for the Branch Coalition against Domestic Violence.
Executive Director Kim Hemker says the final numbers are not in but they went over last year’s total of nearly $35,000.
She estimated there were about 40 men who walked while wearing women’s shoes.
Besides men putting on women’s shoes to show their support, money was raised through a silent auction and a 5K race.
The event is held in conjunction with April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
