COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There are two items on Monday nights Coldwater Planning Commission agenda.
A public hearing will be held on a request from Consumers Energy to rezone 71 acres of land on Jonesville Road across from the Wal Mart Distribution facility to light industrial so that a new service center can be constructed.
The property has been conditionally transferred into the City of Coldwater with the passage of resolutions by both the City of Coldwater City Council and Coldwater Township Board. An Intergovernmental Conditional Transfer Agreement provides for the City to take responsibility for the review and approval of planning and zoning related functions. The agreement stipulates that the city will rezone the parcel to the Light Industrial zoning district classification.
Meanwhile, the Planning Commission is scheduled to review a site plan for the proposed expansion of the Jesus Name Apostolic Church of Coldwater at 300 Smith Street. Plans call for the addition of 2,400 square feet to the existing 4,800 square foot building on about two acres of property.
Monday’s meeting at the Henry L. Brown Municipal Building starts at 5:30 p.m.
