COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater High School senior has been selected as a semi-finalist in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Mindy Young was nominated by Branch Area Careers Center instructor Joseph Sobeske.
Young is a second year student in the Computer Networking Technologies Program at the Careers Center.
Out of over 4,700 applicants, Young was one of 689 students nationwide to receive this award.
The overall winners will be announced in early May. Up to 161 students are named Presidential Scholars every year.
The program was established in 1964 to honor and recognize some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
