LANSING TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a young boy who was taken by his father in the Lansing area.
The Amber Alert was issued Monday morning by the Lansing Township Police Department. Police are looking for 26-year-old Phoenix Washington and his son two-year old Phoenix Washington Jr.
Authorities say the father broke into the victim’s home, took the boy in the early morning hours of Monday, and threatened to harm himself and the child.
The suspect and his son are in a stolen 2011 black Mazda four door with Michigan license plate number EFM6569. The father is described as a black man, 5’5″, weighing 160 pounds. The child is two feet tall, 30 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
No other details have been released at this time. Anyone who spots the vehicle or has more information should call 911 or the Lansing Township Police Department at 517-485-1700.
