COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Community Health Center of Branch County President and C.E.O. Randy DeGroot told the Hospital Board of Trustees on Monday that the hospital is pursuing an operating agreement with a pair of Accountable Care Organizations in Michigan.
He says that will allow the hospital to contract with other companies other than Medicare.
A.C.O.’s are made up of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers who work together to give high quality care to Medicare patients.
It was also reported on Monday that C.H.C. closed March with a positive net income of over $221,000 but inpatient revenue was $395,000 under the prior year. Outpatient revenue for March was over the prior year by $225,000. The year-to-date average daily census was down by about 20 percent.
Admissions were also down by about 16 percent but there was a 33 percent increase of those who went to the Wound Center. Year-to-date surgical cases were down about five percent from the prior year.
