COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Boguth announced during Monday night’s Board of Education meeting that Coldwater High School has gotten approval from the Michigan Department of Education to run an early college program starting next year.
Boguth called it an exciting opportunity for students and families. She said students will be able to enroll for a 13th year and complete up to 60 college credits. This will allow students to get a year of college paid for through state aid dollars.
Coldwater joins Quincy to have such a program.
Coldwater High School Principal Bill Milnes says the program is designated for current tenth graders. He expects between 20 and 40 students will apply in the first year.
Boguth said they will have meetings with parents in the near future to go over the details of the program.
