COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was a stormy night around Branch County as strong winds knocked down trees and power lines.
Branch County Emergency Management and Central Dispatch reported trees and power lines reported down in Sherwood at about 11:20pm Monday night.
The Branch County Road Commission had crews out early Tuesday morning removing a number of trees. No road closings have been reported.
A National Weather Service observer west of Coldwater measured a wind gust of 47 miles an hour just after midnight.
In Hillsdale County, one observer measured 1.2 inches of rain while two healthy large tree limbs were snapped off thanks to an estimated wind gust of 55 miles an hour.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued late Monday night for St. Joseph and Calhoun Counties.
